ViewSnoqualmie River (Stream)
The Snoqualmie River runs 45 miles through King County and Snohomish County in Washington [1]. Three main forks gather water off the Cascade Mountains' western slopes close to North Bend, then meet just above Snoqualmie Falls [1]. The South Fork begins at Source Lake and runs about 31 miles [1]. The Middle Fork runs roughly 41 miles from Chain Lakes, takes in the Taylor and Pratt Rivers, and crosses ground logged from 1923 into the 1970s, where railroad grades from the North Bend Timber Company still remain [1]. The North Fork, about 28 miles, leaves Lake Kanim and drops over Kanim Falls almost at once [1]. Snoqualmie Falls is 268 feet high and appeared on Twin Peaks [1]. Below the falls the river bends north past Fall City, Carnation and Duvall, then meets the Skykomish near Monroe to form the Snohomish, which empties into Puget Sound at Everett [1].
