PlaceWoodinville Whiskey Co.
Woodinville Whiskey Co. did not start with an old family recipe or a line of distillers stretching back generations [1]. It started with two best friends and an idea: take the traditional ways of making bourbon and work them in a small craft setting, with good local grain, good barrels and coopers, advanced distilling equipment, and guidance from the late David Pickerell, an industry figure [1]. Their grain comes from one small farm, the Omlin family's third-generation place in Quincy, Washington [1]. Everything is done by hand, from cooking the mash through to bottling, which lets them keep a handle on each step [1]. The whiskey has taken Craft Whiskey of the Year and Craft Rye Whiskey of the Year from the American Distilling Institute two years running, and Best Straight Bourbon Whiskey of 2020 at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition [1]. The company sits within Moët Hennessy, the wines and spirits division of LVMH [1].
